Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the Juman mobile application ("App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the App.

You must be at least 13 years old to use Juman.

2. Description of Service

Juman is a human-verified journaling application that captures keystroke-level data to create verifiable proof of authentic human writing. Features include journal entries, keystroke recording and replay, cryptographic verification, letters to friends, bottle messages, cloud backup, and data export.

3. User Accounts

• You must provide accurate information when creating an account.
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account.
• One account per person.
• We reserve the right to suspend or delete accounts that violate these Terms.

4. User Content & Ownership

You own all content you create in Juman, including journal entries, letters, and associated keystroke data.

By using the App, you grant Juman a limited, non-exclusive license to store, process, and transmit your content solely for the purpose of providing and improving the service (e.g., cloud sync, letter delivery).

You are responsible for the content you create. Do not use Juman to create, store, or transmit illegal, harmful, or abusive content.

5. Verification & Authenticity

Juman's keystroke recording and verification features provide cryptographic evidence of the writing process. These are technical tools for personal use and documentation purposes.

Verification hashes and QR codes represent the recorded writing process. They are not intended to serve as legally binding proof in any jurisdiction. We make no guarantees about their admissibility or acceptance in legal proceedings.

6. Letters & Social Features

• Letters sent to friends are private between sender and recipient.
• Bottle messages may be delivered to random users within the community.
• Do not use letters or bottle messages to harass, spam, or send inappropriate or harmful content.
• We reserve the right to moderate and remove content that violates these Terms.

7. Prohibited Uses

You agree not to:

• Use the App for any illegal activity.
• Harass, threaten, or abuse other users.
• Send spam or unsolicited messages through the letters system.
• Attempt to breach security or access other users' data.
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App.
• Use automated tools or bots with the App.
• Misrepresent verification data or forge authenticity proofs.

8. Termination

You may delete your account and all associated data at any time from within the App. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms. Upon termination, your cloud-stored data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

9. Disclaimers

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that the App will be error-free, uninterrupted, or secure.

We are not responsible for data loss. We strongly recommend using the cloud backup feature and regularly exporting your entries.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Juman shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of content, or inability to access the service.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be communicated through app update notes. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
